Objectives & Grading

Welcome to my PE class! This class will be loaded with fun, educational, and highly physically active lessons and assignments.
The 3 main goals of this course are to:
1. Enhance and maintain student physical fitness through active participation in fun, yet challenging workouts, activities, and games.
2. Improve student knowledge of how to properly exercise to prevent injury and how the human body functions.
3. Enhance and maintain student physical and mental health with lessons involving proper nutrition, healthy ways to handle stress, and the development of other healthy habits and behaviors.
Grading
Student grading is based on 4 equally weighted criteria:
1. Attendance and active participation in the once a week PE Live sessions 1/4th of grade or 25%
In order to receive attendance credit students must be present on time during roll call. If they arrive in the zoom session after that they must notify me that they have arrived late verbally in the Live session so that I can mark them absent and give them 1/2 credit for their attendance grade. If a student is completely absent from a Live session a parent email sent to me must be received by Friday 1:30PM of that school week or the zero for attendance credit will remain unchanged for the trimester.
2. Completion of the 3 weekly assignments. 3/4th of grade or 75%
Each of the 3 assignments are worth 1/4th of the total grade or 25%.
All assignments are due by Friday 1:30PM of the school week that they are assigned. Late work will not be accepted and will remain zero credit for the remainder of the trimester.

I look forward to an active and healthy school year together!
