Math Olympiad
Hansen's Math Olympiad team is offered for 4th - 8th graders. Students are able to try out for the Math Olympiad team by taking an examination at the beginning of the school year. The team consists of two divisions: 4th-6th grades and 7th-8th grades. Each of the teams participate in one tournament during the school year at the San Joaquin County Office of Education. The tournament consists of an individual event and a team event.
In order to prepare for the competition, students are required to attend training sessions each week until the competition date. The tournament for 4th-6th grades is held in April each year. The tournament for 7th-8th grades is held in May each year.
