Home Connection

“Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that a son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a nation.” —Nelson Mandela

Bridging the gap - This page lists activities for you to use and do at home with your child to reinforce what we are learning in school each month.  All of the websites are ones that I have used at home with my own kiddos. Scholastic Reading Helpers Here - Coming Soon
The books on the Raz-kids website are meant to be used as a powerful tool for helping your student read each night at home. I feel that they are the best bridge between the iRead program that we use in class and reading full books in hand. Your child reads through the levels at their own individual pace. Books are be listened to, and can be re-read for fluency and comprehension over and over again. At the end of each book they take a quick comprehension quiz for each book. Kids love to read the stories and earn prizes to add to their rocket ship. Please use this awesome site as part of your weekly reading homework. Your child will also be using their Raz-kids account at school during literacy centers. Information about student login will be sent home but please email me if you have any additional questions.
